Alice Hasters was born in Cologne in 1989, studied journalism in Munich and since graduating has worked for the Tagesschau and RBB, among others. The main focus of her work is Afro-German identity, racism, feminism and intersectionality,
"If you want to fight racism, you have to advocate change - and that starts with yourself." - so says the book spine of What White People Don't Want to Hear About Racism but Should Know. In her 2019 book, Alice Hasters looks at everyday racism, how racism is dealt with by society in Germany and how it shapes her everyday life as a bPoc woman in Germany. In her autobiographical debut, she shows why racism is not just a problem of the right-wing fringe of society.
In the podcast "Feuer & Brot" (Fire & Bread), she and her friend Maxi Häcke discuss socially relevant, pop-cultural, feminist and personal topics in a relaxed atmosphere every month. At #rp21, Alice Hasters was part of a joint session with Emilia Roig on the topic of "Afropean Identity".
On stage at #rp22, Alice will talk about the "Revolution of Exhaustion", arguing for a change of perspective for the radical change needed in society. We are looking forward to it!
