Susanne Dehmel is Managing Director Trust and Security at the Federal Association for Information Technology, Telecommunication and New Media (Bitkom e.V.) Before she was Head of Department Data Protection since 2010. She is a lawyer and studied in Passau, Freiburg and Cardiff. Before taking over the Data Protection Department she was responsible for Copyright Law and Intellectual Property Issues from 2002-2009. Encouraging trust and security in the digital world and especially the development of a modern and practicable data protection law for the information society is an important part of her work.
