Francine Nkolo is an independent researcher in the fields of International Relations, local governance and public policy.  She is currently a PhD student at the Central African Catholic University, Yaoundé, Cameroon.

She recently showed her interest in the maker movement and Open science. This led her to conduct a research on how makerspace can operate as tools for peacebuilding in fragile contexts. Thus, she took part to the project “Makerspaces for peacebuilding” with the Mboalab. This project was organised in Cameroon on the initiative of a German organization called #Defyhatenow. Her role with APSOHA is to study how citizen sciences can fight cognitive injustices through open education in Africa.
